Mountains What makes them so inspiring that they are the favorite subject of many artists, painters, writers, photographers alike? I don’t have an answer to that, but I know it is always different being surrounded and overwhelmed by that much of shear mass. Those photos where during a trip to Bahardar, Ethiopia where the road passes through the east African Grand Canyon attempting to record that feeling of confusion and also peace, trying to erase the visual reference that I had of how an African landscape usually looked like. Where I am from, I am used to the flat Savannas or the plain deserts. Being here and the hills are salient but then I ask myself, maybe they are just quite or maybe I can hear it, then I look at the sky just to find out that the sky has lost its usual dominance.
